According to Sandro Célant of Le Manic, former Cape Breton Screaming Eagle, Bradley Lalonde, was injured in a traffic accident.
The Baie-Comeau Drakkar defenceman reportedly lost control of his vehicle while travelling to meet his teammates at Centre Henry-Leonard. Lalonde suffered a concussion as a result of the accident and will be sidelined indefinitely.
A native of Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, PQ, Lalonde began his major junior career in Cape Breton. The former second-round draft pick played two seasons with the Eagles before being dealt to the Victoriaville Tigres in 2016.
Lalonde, now 20-years-old, has 22 points in 26 games with the Drakkar in what will be his final season of major junior.
