Bishop suspended one-game

Halifax Mooseheads forward Joel Bishop will miss Saturday’s game after receiving a one-game ban from the QMJHL’s chief disciplinarian Raymond Bolduc.

The St. John’s, NL native incurred a fight-minute major for slew-footing Val-d’Or Foreurs winger Benjamin Dion. Bishop was ejected from the game at the midway mark of the first period.

Last season, Bishop was handed a one-game suspension for boarding in a game against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

The St. John’s Privateers’ alum is in his third season of major junior hockey. In 157 games, Bishop has 54 points and 132 penalty minutes with the Mooseheads.
