Mooseheads lose captain for a week

According to the Halifax Mooseheads’ Twitter account, captain Maxime Fortier is expected to miss a week with an laceration to his leg.

The 20-year-old forward suffered the injury on Friday night in a 2-1 shootout win over the Val-d’Or Foreurs at the Air Creebec Centre in Val-d’Or, PQ.

Fortier has 17 goals and 21 assists for 38 points this season. The overage winger has appeared in 232 games with the Mooseheads scoring 89 times while adding 144 assists.

The Mooseheads visit the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Wednesday before hosting the Eagles and Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Friday and Saturday.
