Halifax Mooseheads’ general manager Cam Russell made his second trade of the 2017-2018 Christmas Trading Period on Wednesday.
Russell dealt rugged defenseman Jordan Lepage to the Rimouski Océanic for a first-round pick in the upcoming 2018 QMJHL Entry Draft.
Lepage tallied three points in 20 games with the Mooseheads this season with a plus-minus of +7 and 41 penalty minutes.
The pick ‘s been everywhere, man
The draft selection was originally owned by the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. The Huskies flipped the pick to the Mooseheads last January for Taylor Ford. The Mooseheads then traded the pick to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan for the rights to Jack Ryczek on December 20. Later in the day, the Titan shipped the pick to the Gatineau Olympiques in the deal that landed Bathurst Mitchell Balmas. On December 30, the Olympiques traded the first-round selection to Rimouski for Maxime Trépanier. The pick now returns to Halifax for Lepage.
